if you're an editor
With one of my stories sitting in your slush pile, what are you doing reading this? At present I have 5 stories doing the rounds; a couple have been out for 50 days, while another two have been out for 28 days. The waiting game. Basically I'm bogging myself down in the cricket story, and instead of plugging away at it I'm working out the stats on the stories already in the marketplace.

21st century digital boy
My wonderful girlfriend, Liz, has great taste in music. She's also a regular Ebayer. Last Sunday morning, while Liz was at the flat checking on how her items were progressing, I happened to look over her shoulder and saw she was selling a few of her CDs I wouldn't mind having. As I'm in Northam and Liz is in Narrogin I hadn't been around while Liz borrowed my scanner to scan the covers and put them on Ebay.
It turns out that it was too late for Liz to retract some of the items, as they'd already been bid on. Some hadn't so Liz took them down, and could be mine with maybe a decent dinner or a good foot massage. So if I wanted the others I'd have to hop onto Ebay, register myself, and then bid on them. Of course the best ones had been bid on, Rage Against the Machine's debut album, The Cure's live album Show, and Umbrella by The Crystal Set (which, as it turns out, is a bit of a rarity).
So, to cut a long story short and spare you a tale of a night of frantic bidding, I now owe my lovely girlfriend over 50 bucks.
If I was a less scrupulous person I'd have just got Liz to burn me a copy before she sold them.

inflammatory
Looking back at my post of last Thursday I realise I was being a little rash and possibly inflammatory. So to put the record straight, knives, bombs, gas and even natural causes will provide just cause for a hell of a party. Show me the body!
