alive and kicking
Just to let y'all know, I'm on Live Journal now too. There may be a bit of cross-posting now and then while I sort myself out. The plan is to eventually have two poorly-updated sites detailing the unexciting life of a guy who lives in both Narrogin and Northam.

the wheels on the bus...
Caught the bus back from Perth on Sunday after sitting around East Perth station for 3.5 hours. Out of fear of terrorists wanting to level a strong candidate for Perth's ugliest building, the station has no storage lockers. Having a heavy bag with me, you'll understand that all I wanted to do was pickup my ticket, store the big heavy bag and then head back to Perth to spend some money and keep the economy strong.
Nope.
Despite Melbourne having just as great a chance of an attack by terrorists (i.e. slim-to-none), both Spencer Street and Flinders Stations have storage lockers.
At East Perth Train Station, the criminals to look out for aren't terrorists or communist revolutionaries, they're thieving capitalists operating the food bar. I'm still in shock for the amount I was charged for a 600mL Iced Coffee and a regular, straight off the rack Mrs Mac's Steak and Cheese pie. Two staples of our once-great nation, the sort of fare that you used to be able to buy at the local footy with a bucket of chips and see change from a two dollar note. Food that I figure may cost around $3.00 at a supermarket or $6.00 if you're at the footy nowadays.
At East Perth Train Station this basic meal will cost you $7.60. At those prices, I'm not surprised that someone would want to put a bomb in a suitcase in a locker.
But I am curious, did the station have storage lockers three years and four days ago?
